Vincent Fung
Secretary-General
& Acting Director General
Vincent Fung is Director of Music at a Catholic church in Washington, D.C., USA, a chorister with Washington National Opera, and a section leader of his local cathedral schola. A bass-baritone originally hailing from San Francisco, California, Vincent has had the honor of singing internationally in such venues as Saint Peter’s Basilica, Carnegie Hall, the Estates Theatre, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and Washington National Cathedral. As baritone section leader and a soloist with Choralis, he worked with Bob Chilcott on the album In Winter’s Arms: Seasonal Music by Bob Chilcott, available from Signum Records. Vincent holds an Artist Diploma and a Master of Music degree – both in vocal performance. Qualifications: BA, MM, ArtDip, FFSC
Philip Almond
Safeguarding Officer
Philip is a lay clerk at Newcastle Cathedral, and in 2020 he was awarded a Fellowship to the National Federation of Church Musicians for his excellent service to Church Music. Â Graduating through the Anglican chorister system, Philip then studied voice at the University of Huddersfield. After completing his studies, he became a tenor choral scholar at Blackburn Cathedral, and sang in several choirs. As a member of the principal cathedral choir he had the privilege of performing for Queen Elizabeth II. Â He then had his own teaching business for three years before accepting the position of principal tenor lay clerk at Newcastle Cathedral. This has involved him in numerous services and events; during the school holidays, he has worked alongside the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) as pastoral support at events for their iMYC and jMYC programmes. Albert Nabonibo
Africa Area Representative
Albert is currently the Isange Rwanda LGBTI Coalition Facilitator/Remote worker. He has a Bachelor degree of Business Administration/Finance and Banking from Kampala International University and has 10 years of experience working in accounting and financial management. He has contributed to local-level advocacy, economic empowerment, capacity strengthening and accessible, quality healthcare for people of African descent, particularly LGBTQIA+ people in Rwanda and East Africa in general. He has coordinated several LGBTI projects / programs in Rwanda, including the first annual Pride 2021. In 2022, he was invited by ILGA (International Lesbian and Gay Association) world conference in the USA as a panelist and human rights activist from Africa. Â Qualifications: BBA
Wei-En Hsu
Asia Area Representative
Wei-En Hsu is an Associate Professor (Répétiteur/Collaborative Piano) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.  Hsu is an established opera conductor and an early music specialist promoting Baroque opera and the art of recitative for pianists. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Hsu is an accomplished pianist, organist, conductor, répétiteur and composer. A native of Taiwan, he received his BFA degree in Piano at Taipei National University of the Arts. He has received additional training at the Royal Academy of Music, University of Cincinnati, and Rutgers University. As an author, his latest books are 'Keeping Music Alive during the Pandemic: Stories and Lessons from the World’s Leading Opera, Orchestra Librarians, and Music Archivists', and 'Creating a Global Cultural City via Public Participation in the Arts: Conversations with Hong Kong’s Leading Arts and Cultural Administrators'.  Qualifications: KStI, BFA, MMus, F.Comp.ASMC, F.Perf.ASMC, F.Dip.SCSM(Hons), ARAM, FEAU, FWOU, FGMS, AFNCollM, FRSA, FFSC, FSCO
Dr Nik Krawchenko

Born and educated in Auckland, New Zealand, Nikolas is a bass (1st) in the choir of Waiapu Cathedral of St John the Evangelist in Napier, New Zealand –  the first cathedral in the world to see the light of each new day! Nik studied French and Latin, before completing an MA with first class honours in Old French at the University of Auckland. After spending two years teaching in Paris and at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, he returned to Auckland to undertake medical studies, and now works as a hospital doctor in internal medicine in Hawke’s Bay. He held the role of lay clerk in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Choir, Auckland, under then director Dr Indra Hughes. He was a founding member of the highly successful NZ chamber choir Musica Sacra and has also sung in l’Ensemble Joseph Samson, the choir of St Benigne Cathedral, Dijon, the choir of St Finbarre’s Cathedral, Cork, and the Napier group Octavius. He is a member of the Burgon Society, a Fellow of the Guild of Musicians and Singers, and a Fellow of the Fraternity of Saint Cecilia. He has been a strong advocate for the safety, visibility, and inclusion of the rainbow community within New Zealand society, and a financial supporter of the NZ Falcons gay rugby team. Philip Allison
Europe Area Representative
Philip is from West Sussex, England and his interest in music began at an early age when he sang with the local church choir.  His love for church music grew by singing with various friends’ church choirs and in the school choir, and when he also began to play the organ. He studied theology at Bangor in north Wales, where he sang with the University Chamber Choir. Returning to Sussex, Philip rejoined on rotation some of the local parish choirs that only sang once a month, and became a member of Arundel Cathedral Choir.  Today Philip lives in Italy, teaching English Literature and Language across two Universities close to Venice. He is also involved in music making in Venice as well as organising concerts in Molise (where he is restoring a house) to help raise funds to rebuild the organ in the local church. Darren Williams
United Kingdon Area Representative
Darren is the Organist and Musical Director at Doncaster Minster, England. He started his musical career as a chorister at Bangor Cathedral in Wales where he also began organ lessons at 12 years of age.  In the early 2000s he was in choirs (countertenor) and an organist at Reading and Carlisle, which involved touring concerts.  He has been at Doncaster Minster since 2009 where he is busy leading choirs, playing the organ and organising concerts. In 2011 Darren was appointed accompanist for the Danensian Choir which visits cathedrals throughout the UK to sing services during week-long residential stays. In 2015 he became Musical Director of South Yorkshire Police Male Voice Choir, one of the oldest choirs of its kind in the UK.
Tyrone Whiting
USA Area Representative
Currently Director of Music at the historic St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Philadelphia, USA, Tyrone oversees an adult choir, a children’s choir chorister program, and a robust annual series of concerts. Tyrone was Director of Music at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Battersea from 2012 to early 2018, where he conducted a number of large-scale concerts, and instituted a biennial recital series as well as a new fully-funded choral scholarship program. Subsequently he worked as Director of Music at Grace Church in Newark, New Jersey, where he expanded the adult choir and founded a new adult chamber choir, Brick City Chorus. Winner of multiple prizes, organist, pianist, and conductor Tyrone began his formal studies as a teenager with Nigel McClintock at Croydon Parish Church, London. In 2011 he was awarded the Associateship diploma of the Royal College of Organists (ARCO). In 2012 he received a Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he studied organ performance with William Whitehead, Daniel Moult, and Ann Elise Smoot, He was three times winner of the Geoffrey Singleton Prize for Organ Performance (2010, 2011 & 2012), and twice winner of the Cardnell Organ Prize for ‘talents as an organist’ (2011 & 2012). Throughout the degree, Tyrone trained as a pianist under the direction of the renowned Phillip Fowke. He also studied at Trinity’s Junior Department where he was awarded the Hambourg Award for Improvisation. Having previously graduated from the Royal College of Music, he returned there in 2016, and received a distinction in the one-year fast-track Master of Music degree course, achieving an ‘excellent’ category distinction grade in his final organ recital, and receiving the renowned Harold Darke Prize in 2017. Tyrone studied organ with David Graham and Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin, conducting with Peter Stark and Howard Williams, and has also undertaken historical performance projects with Jane Chapman and Lawrence Zazzo. He has performed at venues across the UK, Europe, and the USA including Westminster Abbey and the Royal Albert Hall, St. Sulpice (Paris) and the Palau de la Música (València). Passionate about teaching, Tyrone was awarded the Licentiateship diploma of Trinity College, London (LTCL) in Instrumental/Vocal Teaching with high distinction. He was formerly Head of Music at Elmhurst Independent School for Boys for a number of years, and worked as an animateur in London schools and with the London Mozart Players.
